The Mian Karam Ellahi Trust (MKET) Pakistan is a charitable, non‑profit social welfare institution headquartered in Faisalabad (Lyallpur City), Punjab, Pakistan. Established in memory of Mian Karam Ellahi (Late), the Trust continues his lifelong commitment to humanitarian service, community uplift, and equitable access to essential support for vulnerable populations. MKET is legally registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 (Act XXI of 1860) and regulated by the Punjab Charities Commission (PCC), ensuring full compliance with national standards of governance, transparency, and accountability.
Kashmiri-Origin Trusteeship & Diaspora Lineage
MKET is administered by trustees of Kashmiri - Origin, belonging to the Dar/Dhar lineage of the Srinagar Valley. Their ancestral migration from Srinagar to Village Sehna, Tehsil Kharian, District Gujrat (India) in 1938, and subsequent inclusion in Pakistan on 14 August 1947, forms the cultural and historical foundation of MKET’s identity. This lineage informs the Trust’s values of compassion, dignity, cultural continuity, and collective responsibility.
This heritage connection situates MKET within the broader Kashmiri diaspora community documented under the Kashmir-Origin Legal Identity, Documentation & Representation Foundation (KLIRF). Through KLIRF’s archival system, MKET is formally recognized as a Diaspora Affiliated Social Welfare Institution, linked to the personal lineage file of Munir Ahmed Dar, a first‑generation international Kashmiri diaspora member.

INSTITUTIONAL STRUCTURE OF MKET
MKET consists of two formally documented institutional sections:
1. Kashmiri-Origin Legal Identity, Documentation & Representation Foundation (KLIRF)
KLIRF is a Pakistan based an international diaspora institution dedicated to documenting, preserving, and protecting the legal identity, lineage, heritage, and community records of Kashmir-origin individuals and organizations in Pakistan and worldwide. It maintains authoritative:
KLIRF provides classification, verification, and archival support for diaspora-linked institutions such as MKET, ensuring their lineage, heritage, and community contributions are formally recorded. Through its Diaspora Identity & Community Welfare Framework, KLIRF recognizes welfare organizations, baradari associations, and lineage-based institutions that uphold Kashmiri cultural values, humanitarian principles, and community solidarity.
MKET’s inclusion in KLIRF’s registry affirms its status as a diaspora-affiliated welfare institution, strengthening its legitimacy, heritage continuity, and international recognition.
2. Kashmiri Origin Baradari Association (KOBA) – Pakistan
KOBA is a community-based, non‑political, non‑profit welfare body representing families of Kashmiri descent residing across Pakistan. Rooted in the cultural heritage of the Kashmir Valley and guided by principles of dignity, compassion, and communal solidarity, KOBA preserves Kashmiri identity, strengthens diaspora cohesion, and advances the welfare of its members.
KOBA operates under MKET’s Charter & Constitution and is aligned with KLIRF’s Diaspora Identity & Community Welfare Framework for undocumented Kashmiri-origin diaspora living in Pakistan since pre‑1947. These communities:
Do not possess the State Subject Certificate (SSC‑1) of Azad Jammu & Kashmir
Have no representation in the AJK Legislative Assembly
Have no voting rights for the AJK Assembly
Have lost Jammu & Kashmir citizenship privileges after 14 August 1947
KOBA maintains genealogical records, supports vulnerable families, promotes education and youth development, facilitates peaceful dispute resolution, and collaborates with governmental and civil society institutions. Together, KOBA and KLIRF form the Diaspora Affiliated Community Welfare Section within MKET, ensuring heritage, lineage, and community contributions are preserved within MKET’s archival system.
